Hendrik Beune of AHA MEDIA does Oyster Harvesting on Hernando Island, BC

Hendrik Beune of AHA MEDIA writes:

Two days on a wild picking permit, harvesting oysters on Hernando Island (between Cortez and SAvory Island) and return to the shellfish farm at Theodosia Inlet (Okeover Inlet) near Desolation Sound, May 30-31st 2011.

This series of video-clips shows the scenery and some of the wildlife we encountered on the first day out. It then shows us picking up the harvest of the two days and the return trip to the farm, crossing Georgia Strait, entering Malaspina Inlet, Okeover Inlet and Theodosia Inlet. The last few videos are of us depositing the oysters in cargo nets on the lease, the dock, dogs and a view of the shoreline and floating equipment at the farm. It finishes up with a fast return trip to the Okeover dock to get to Jaqcues’ home at Lund, just before the rains hit, complete with thunder and lightening!
