Inner City Economic Strategy 2013 in Vancouver Downtown Eastside (DTES)

Saturday Sept 14, 2013 12-4pm at 111 West Hastings, 2nd floor

Time for an Inner City DTES community update on key projects several of us are working on, from SFU’s-100 communities dialogue on economic development, the DNC Street Market, ALIVE’s Salish Sea Civilization and the Inner City Economic Strategy.

Time, from noon to 4:00 pm at the Woodward’s second floor. Food and beverages provided, have your say, get informed and engaged, supporting all vulnerable populations who seek to claim their space and be involved in their community.

From 2pm-3pm we’ll review some of the background research informing SFU Public Square 100 Community Conversations on the BC economy, brainstorm strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats, and discuss strategies to 1)create wealth, 2) promote social equity, and 3) protect the environment. To review the Discussion Guide informing these conversations, have a look here: http://www.sfu.ca/content/dam/sfu/publicsquare/summit2013/files/summit2013-discussionGuide-FIN.pdf
