Nokia sponsored a wonderful time for us at Cinema Restaurant in Vancouver for Social Media Week Vancouver 2011

Tom Hall and Kathy Garfield welcomed us warmly to our fun filled evening!   Connecting with old friends like Daniel of Nokia Love blog and Shane Gibson made our time extra special!

Highlight of the evening was when our dear friend Miraj Khaled was the lucky winner of a fabulous Nokia N8 for being the eighth person to arrive at our tweetup!

Nokia truly connects people! We had a very memorable evening socializing with our friends 🙂

Thanks Nokia for sponsoring such a wonderful event during Social Media Week 2011 in Vancouver!

Celebrating International Bacon Day 2011 at Save On Meats in Vancouver Downtown Eastside (DTES)

Peter Davies of AHA MEDIA writes

Today being “International Bacon Day“, I thought it best to go to and write about a place that is known for its delicious meats and decent prices. I am of course talking about Save On Meats (Next to the Army and Navy store on Hastings). Myself and 2 friends made our way to the back of the crowded restaurant and relaxed in a clean booth as we perused the menu. We decided on Grilled Cheese and Bacon sandwiches with sides of Mashed Potatoes and Bacon of course. We topped this off with bacon and chocolate milkshakes (very delicious by the way). The sandwiches were very tasty and just enough to fill us without being too much. The milkshakes to my surprise tasted very little like bacon but had a very nice aftertaste of smoky bacon that was delicious. Surprisingly we only payed approx. $10 each for this meal. If you are looking for a good place to eat with a simple menu and delicious food, I suggest you check out Save On Meats, you will not be disappointed.

Mmm bacon!  So good to the last bite!

AHA MEDIA at Katy Perry concert in Vancouver – California Dreams 2011 tour!!!

July 23, 2011 Leave a comment

Many thanks to Glenn Letham and Virgin Mobile Canada for the wonderful chance to attend the most fantastic Katy Perry Concert in Vancouver!!!

Peter Davies of AHA MEDIA’s thoughts:

We had the opportunity on Tuesday to attend one of the concerts of the year in my opinion; Katy Perry at Rogers Arena. 13,000 screaming teenage girls (and only about 100 boys) gave Katy a very loud Vancouver welcome as she finished her California Dreams Tour at Rogers Arena. We got a nice little warmup from Janelle Monae and DJ Skeet Skeet (who did a few of Katy’s songs but DJ style) and then got towatch a nice video clip of Katy in the not so long ago age of Black and White video. This video continued throughout the concert allowing Katy to switch between sets beautifully and seamlessly. From the Cotton Candy smelling arena to Cotton Candy clouds and Lollipop stairs, the whole concert was a feast for the senses and a real treat for anyone who has been a fan of Katy. Flawless and Fantastic!!! Probably the highlight of the night came when Katy invited people from the crowd up on stage to dance with her. One very lucky girl posed with Katy for a photo that reporters are describing as the “best profile (Facebook of course) pic of the year” (Georgia Straight). The sights were great and especially fun was the huge gumball machine which if you got a white gumball, would upgrade your seat for free. Amazing times!!  A lifetime of memories in one night to be had for all, especially lucky me, I had no lineups for the mens washroom.
