Eat Vancouver 2014
Peter of AHA MEDIA says:
What defines Vancouver? In my opinion it is the people and the variety. When you put them together you get a wide variety of delicious food from many different backgrounds. Eat Vancouver is a festival that brings everyone together under one roof (BC Place stadium) to enjoy great food and the company of other foodies. From Curry to Smoked Salmon and just about every other food in between, the Festival had it all. I came away with a full belly and a greater understanding of food. One word of advice, do not eat anything before coming otherwise you will wind up not trying everything.
The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey movie at Cineplex Scotiabank Theatre Vancouver
Peter of AHA MEDIA says
Oh what a memorable weekend to see The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey in Vancouver!
Friday night December 14, 2012 we went to see The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey. A movie I have been waiting for ever since the first Lord of the Rings movie came out. We arrived 3 hrs early (we aren’t stupid, we knew what the lineups would be like) and settled 2nd in line with popcorn, nachos, and drinks inside special edition cups (mine had a mini Gandalf on top).
We were delighted to make new friends Martin and Michael.
2.5 hrs later after turning aside line budgers and whiny people, we get into the movie theater and see a totally blank screen, no commercials, no trailers. Hmm, that never happens. After 1/2 hr of waiting, the manager comes in and tells us that there were technical difficulties and that the movie would be cancelled for the night; we would be able to get refunds and at the front desk. Cue riots, yelling, and the throwing of various food items at the manager.
Thanks to Martin, Michael, Ken Mont, General Manager of Cineplex Scotiabank Theatre Vancouver , Dr. Stan Karon and his sons and Cineplax Scotia Bank Theatre in Vancouver for making our Hobbit movie experience extraordinary!!

Einstein Wrap House Mediterranean Kitchen at Tinseltown Mall in Vancouver
Peter Davies of AHA MEDIA says:
So, what is the best Shawarma place in Vancouver?
Perhaps in the Westside, Granville st, or Gastown? Not at all.
The best Shawarma in town is a little known and fairly new place located in Tinseltown Mall called Einstein Wrap House!
This place is awesome!
None of the grease that is normally associated with places like this.
All the delicious dips are homemade. 🙂
We had the Chicken Shawarma Platter and the Lamb Donair Platter with a Samosa on the side.
The Platters were cheaply priced and the owner tossed in the Samosa for free!
The Samosa was moist, delicious, and a delight to our taste buds.
The chicken and lamb were perfectly done and had plenty of delicious garlic sauce, tzatziki, and hummus on top.
Overall a very great place that we frequent often 🙂
