This one is running every fourth Saturday, beginning Saturday, March 14th from 10-2, $150 pre-registered, and only eight spaces are available. Tuition includes lunch: please let us know at the time of registration if you are vegan or vegetarian. I’ll be running it again on the 9th of April.

Pimp My Blog

is practical tips and tools for increasing your readership and influence, and applies to any blogging platform (with the exception of Tumblr, which is really only good for talking to the voices inside your head in my opinion). It includes a very basic intro to social media like Facebook and Myspace for promotion. I’ll be teaching this one on Saturday, March 21st. This is a $150 course, also from 10-2. There are only eight places in each session. Tuition includes lunch: please let us know at the time of registration if you are vegan or vegetarian. I’ll be running it again on Saturday, April 16th.

Twitter Tools

is a hands-on seminar designed for beginning and intermediate Twitter users who want to learn improved ways to manage their accounts.

Who: Raul Pacheco (@hummingbird604)

What: Twitter Tools, a two-hour introduction to Twitter, HootSuite, Twhirl, TweetDeck, and Power Twitter
When: 12-2pm, Saturday, February 28th. Repeats every fourth Saturday (next class March 28th)
Where: Tradeworks Training Society, 2nd floor, 87 West Pender Street, Vancouver at the corner of Columbia and Pender in Chinatown
Why: learn four powerful applications that can save you time and help you get the most out of Twitter
How: much? $75

The basics of Twitter and the applications of three Twitter tools will be reviewed in the first 30-45 minutes with a hands-on session in the remaining 1:15, where the instructor will be available to guide participants through the basic elements of using each one of the following tools – HootSuite, Twhirl, TweetDeck and Power Twitter.

Class size is strictly limited to 8: please email bloggingclasses AT gmail DOT com to pre-register. Payment in advance via Paypal or by special arrangement. In this case, lunch will not be served but snacks and coffee will be available.

Coming Up:

Introduction to Social Media:

a four-hour, intensive introduction to MySpace, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, and other popular social media platforms. Covers the etiquette unique to each, how to set up your profile, privacy concerns, how to promote via social media and how to connect with real friends. This course is not a hands-on, lets-get-you-signed-up-on-Facebook course; it’s more to make you aware of all the different services out there and to give you some perspective to make an informed choice about your participation in the social media space.

This is a $150 course, also from 10-2. There are only eight places in each session. Tuition includes lunch: please let us know at the time of registration if you are vegan or vegetarian. Please email bloggingclasses AT gmail DOT com to pre-register. Payment in advance via Paypal or by special arrangement.

Hendrik and the rest of AHA MEDIA live in the Vancouver Downtown Eastside, ( check out wikipedia for more info http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Downtown_Eastside

Our area  was considered the #1 poorest postal code of Canada, up until recently  ( North Winnipeg is now the poorest postal code )

The Vancouver Downtown Eastside is an inner city that has alot of social, health, poverty, and  economical conditions that are concentrated within the 10 blocks radis that makes up the oldest part of Vancouver.

Countering the above difficult conditions, some of the beautiful things of the Vancouver Downtown Eastside are the arts, community, freedom of expression, social acceptances of one another,  and neighborly aspect between the residents of the DTES the people of the Downtown Eastside enjoy their small pleasures when they can. 🙂

In this video, Hendrik touts the good find and the even better joy of being able to eat a Whopper from Burger King. He bought his hamburger on the special sale day of Whopper Wednesday .

A popular day that some esidents of the Vancouver Downtown Easside look forward to is Whopper Wednesday for $1.99, one can enjoy a great, big burger from Burger King,  something that everyone especially in today’s tight budgets can purchase, eat and savour!
